about

From Javier Busto's "Ave Maria" to Andrea Basevi's "The Wife of Soap", passing through Michele Josia's "Missa Brevis", Federico Tollis's "Diffusa est gratia", Manolo Da Rold's "Ave Maria", "Lux Aurumque" by Eric Whitacre.
Thus is presented, eclectic and refined, "dediCantum", the new CD of the City of Rome Choir, one of the most active and well-known choral realities in the Italian amateur polyphonic world.

The album features nine tracks ranging from compositions dedicated to the choir for its thirty years from some of the most interesting Italian composers, to the works of authors particularly close to the choir or with whom the choir has collaborated in recent years, such as Javier Busto, Bob Chilcott and Eric Whitacre, with a tribute to the recently deceased John Tavener.
The presence of Benjamin Britten could not be missing, to whom the choir, which has always been particularly attached to his music, dedicated a Festival on the occasion of the centenary of his birth. "Philip's Breeches", written in 1936, belongs to his original youth compositions, and is recorded here in the first world recording.
